Google’s Read Along app uses Google’s Text to Speech and Speech Recognition Technology to develop literacy skills available in 180 countries.

Today Company Announce that Google’s Read Along App will help kids to improve their reading skills to elementary school students which is available now for 180 countries. This Read Along app uses Google’s Text to Speech and Speech Recognition Technology to develop literacy skills and it is designed for children aged 5 years and above. This mobile app supports nine languages including Hindi, English, Spanish and Portuguese. First Read along app launched called Bolo in India around March’19.
In this app, Kids are guided through Read Along with the help of Diya, An App Reading Buddy. According to Google, Diya gives supportive and positive feedback along the way just as a teacher or parent. Also in this app children can tap Diya anytime to get help for pronouncing a sentence or a word.

Google also said that voice data captured by the Read Along app is analyzed only on devices but it isn’t sent to Google’s servers. This app will work offline but if you want to download some new stories then it requires wi-fi or mobile internet to do it. This Read Along app will not require a sign-In, It is an ads free app and does not have in-app purchase as well.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, All the schools or colleges were closed and it has forced students to stay home from school. Google has also extended free access to Google Meet features for G Suite or G Suite for Education customers until September 30th.
